When It Feels Like Nothing Is Working

There are seasons when you’re doing everything you know to do—being consistent, staying open, applying the lessons, trusting the process—and still, nothing seems to move. Nothing lands. Nothing clicks. The door doesn’t open. The breakthrough doesn’t come. And it starts to feel like you’re pouring energy into a void.
That’s the moment most people start questioning everything.
Is it me?
Did I miss a sign?
Am I out of alignment?
Am I wasting my time?
This space—where nothing seems to be working—is heavy. Not because it’s empty, but because it’s sacred. And sacred spaces are often misunderstood.
See, there’s a part of the journey that happens underground. A part that’s not visible to anyone else. Sometimes not even to you. You’re planting, watering, tending—and the soil looks exactly the same. No signs of growth. No movement above the surface. But underneath, something is happening. Roots are forming. The foundation is being laid. And if you give up too soon, you never get to see what you were preparing the ground for.
This space tests your relationship with outcomes. It asks you: Can you keep showing up even when there’s no applause? Can you stay connected to your purpose even when the results are delayed? Can you trust that something is still aligning, even if it’s not visible yet?
Sometimes “nothing working” isn’t a sign to quit. It’s a sign that what’s being built is deeper than what you imagined. Slower, yes. But sturdier.
It’s also a chance to shift the question. Instead of asking What else can I do? maybe the better question is What wants to emerge if I stop trying to force something to happen?
Because it’s possible that things are working. Just not in the way you expected. Just not on the timeline your ego prefers.
Maybe this is the pause before acceleration. The quiet before clarity. The pruning before the bloom.
There’s something deeply spiritual about learning how to stay rooted when nothing outside you is validating your growth. Because in that space, you either deepen your trust or you lose it. And every time you choose to stay grounded, you become more aligned with your future—whether or not you can see it yet.
Pause for a Moment and Ask Yourself: What if everything I’m doing is working beneath the surface, and this silence is just proof that something bigger is being prepared?
